Method

The engine calculates each rectangular area with shared project-volume geometry, applies your selected allowance, then estimates mass from a required user-configured density before applying only the selected purchasing increment.

Worked example

A 20 ft by 12 ft area at 4 in starts at 2.96 yd³. A 10% allowance produces 3.26 yd³ before the selected half-yard order increment is rounded upward.

Moisture, gradation, compaction, material type, and the supplier specification can change actual weight. This takeoff is planning guidance, not geotechnical or structural advice. Confirm density, order increments, and the material basis with your supplier.
