Method

Each rectangular area is normalized to metres before volume is calculated and summed; selected adjustments and purchasing rounding are shown separately.

Worked example

A 20 ft by 12 ft area with the 4 in preset starts at about 2.96 yd³. The 10% allowance is calculated before the half-yard purchasing quantity is rounded upward.

Measure each zone

Split L-shaped, stepped, or separate zones into rectangles. Measure inside the intended material boundary and use the installed depth—not a nominal product label. Add each distinct rectangle here before ordering.
